So finally the wait is over....and as Chetan Bhagat releases his 3rd book called "the 3 Mistakes of my life". Its strange na but he always uses numericals in the title of all of his books....five, one n now 3...neways forget it.So his thrird novel if a quite different if we talk about its plot and story but a bit similar too to the precedors if we talk about its characters.This story revolves around the four main characters Govind,Omi,Ish and Vidya.Its quite similar to the characters in Five point Someone...Govind resembles to Hari, Ryan to Ish, Alok is Omi and Neha is Vidya.It may be only my view but i feel that.Anyways the story plot is like that, Govind, omi and Ish are the three friends abit confused of their carrers and all that just like the most of the current youth generation.And then they started a small buisness with a dream to make it big.All things was going fine when something happens which ruin their all buisness and shattered their dreams at all.Now thats story tells how they come up with all such disaster and how they rebuild their buisness and lives.
This time Chetan come up with a quite dark and serious novel which covers the three of the biggest craze of India....i.e Cricket, Relegion and Buisness. The story deals with such a serious issues that should be told. But the remarkable thing is that how chetan crafted his story so beautifully, how he come up with such a fresh and quite releavent characters and told his story in a same light mood but still in a impactful way.Chetan uses such real incidents which changed the whole world forever like the Gujrat earthquake, Godhra riots, Ind Vs Aus Test Series and the 9/11 incidents.....These are the incidents which is still fresh in the minds of people and this novel strikes that chord pretty hard.And it will make you to remind all the events again.The story is quite relevant, the characters are well developed.The characters has all the shades....the story has a romantic angle too....which is understandable as we already seen that in Five point Someone and One night @ the call cente.
As we all know that chetan earlier novels already inspired the directors to make a film on them and even movies are on the floor and we will see them quite soon. This novels too has all the elements which can inspire to have a flick on it, a pure bollywood flick. Despite its positive points which makes it must readable book, it also has some flaws or we can say there are few of the negative points or falling points of this novel which makes it short of that effective as of Five point someone.... First point is that despite its relation with some of the most relative real life issues somehow its feel like a novel which makes for inspiring another bollywood flick.Another point is that the novel is bit streched.
But still i loved the novel.And recommending all the hardcore Chetan fans to read it.You will not be disappointed with the version.And I hope now we will see the new voulmes of Chetan Bhagat more frequently.....Have Fun....
